Sexuality: Javasexual. Also very straight, though he's not interested in a romantic relationship whatsoever. He's already "seeing a very hot someone", rumored to have mocha-cream skin and cappuccino perfume.

Appearance:
Godot is a handsome man with a terribly mysterious appearance. Well, really, the main thing that's mysterious about him is the difficult-to-miss massive robotic-looking visor over his eyes that he is never without. He's tall, muscular and well-built and appears to be Latino in heritage with tan skin. His left ear is pierced twice and he wears very small hoop earrings. His hair is longish, scruffy and pure white, though his facial hair (a chinstrap goatee) is black. Being a lawyer, he is well-dressed, with a teal dress shirt trimmed with black arm garters underneath a strapping gray pinstripe vest, a white tie, black slacks and black dress shoes. 99% of the time there is a plain white coffee cup in his hand.

Personality:
Once again, the best way to generally describe Godot is "terribly mysterious". A rookie prosecuting attorney (though still strangely legendary in legal circles-- it's been said that many people spend their entire lives waiting for his appearance) he is shrouded in the unknown, from his true face hidden beneath his visor to his real name and identity. This mystery is certainly not accidental, and Godot does his best to remain distant and cool to nearly everyone he meets. In conversation, he is forever cocky and usually smug, speaking in lofty and dense metaphors that more often than not require him to explain them. Extremely flirtatious, he enjoys beautiful women and comes up with nicknames for them, usually animal-related. Despite this, he keeps everyone he meets at arm's length and rarely takes more than a passing interest in anyone.

Being a lawyer, he is very intelligent and logical, able to piece together broken or missing bits of evidence or information to discover the truth. Even though he's rather new to prosecuting, he's got years of experience from his time as a defense attorney, before something happened to change him. Despite his cool, disinterested and intimidating exterior, he always plays fair, has a soft spot for children and in the end will always stand up for what he knows is right. Nothing can stop him once he has his mind set on a goal.

And of course, Godot cannot be described without mentioning his obsessive love of coffee-- always taken black. Most of his aforementioned metaphors involve it and he is rarely seen without his favorite white cup full of a steaming helping of "pure black magic", one of countless blends that he's personally formulated. He has limited himself to 17 cups per trial, but his total per day is likely much higher than that, given his mysterious ability to summon a mug of coffee no matter what kind of remote location he happens to be in. Suffice to say he drinks more coffee than would kill a normal person and his arteries are probably hard enough to deflect bullets by now.

Abilities/Weaponry:
Not counting coffee cups lobbed at his opponent's heads, he has no real weaponry but a sharp intellect and a sharper wit with brilliant problem-solving skills. His only special ability is his strange power to summon a cup of coffee no matter where he is-- this also extends to coffee fixings, as he's been known to make white coffee for other people on the spur of the moment despite the fact he doesn't like milk or sugar and doesn't seem to carry them with him.

He also possesses the mostly useless skill of deciphering the numerical taste breakdown of any blend of coffee within a sip or two.

Weaknesses:
Personality-wise, Godot is very bullheaded. He holds grudges with a bitter vengeance and is extremely unforgiving to those who have wronged him, to the point of obsession and irrationality. Get on his bad side and he'll never ever let you forget it.

Physically, since the incident that inspired Godot to change his name and forget his past, he's been in extremely poor health and requires frequent doctor's visits and medication to remain healthy. He is not very hardy and weakened immensely in extreme conditions. He is also blind without his visor-- even with it, his vision is in his own words "messed up" and he can't see the color red.

History:
Before there was Godot, there was Diego Armando, a brilliant young defense attorney at the Grossberg Law Offices in the Los Angeles of the Phoenix Wright universe. Aside from Marvin Grossberg himself, Diego was arguably the most talented of the many lawyers employed by the firm, fiery with a noble devotion to justice. When Grossberg hired a fresh-out-of-law school Mia Fey, Diego was instantly attracted to her for her brains, her fierce belief in her clients and, well, her beauty. Taking Mia under his wing, Diego served as her mentor and stood alongside her in her very first case. In a shocking twist, Mia's client committed suicide on the stand under the influence of Dahlia Hawthorne, the prosecution's star witness-- the truly guilty party in the murder at hand. Mia was so traumatized watching her client die before her that she suffered a nervous breakdown, and Diego watched in fury as Dahlia left the courtroom a free woman.

Diego was moved by Mia's belief in her client and her devotion to justice, which mirrored his own, and became determined to set things right. He and Mia dedicated the next six months to further investigation of the case and Dahlia, determined to put her in jail where she belonged. It was over this time period that Diego and Mia fell in love. On August 27th, Diego managed to arrange a meeting alone with Dahlia at the courthouse cafeteria, intent on getting some answers out of her. Over the course of their meeting, Dahlia slipped poison into Diego's coffee and upon drinking it, he immediately collapsed.

Diego "died", but due to the magic of modern medicine he was revived, though remained in a very deep coma they believed he would never awaken from. Official reports of the incident never described it as a "murder", since Diego had not died, but Mia knew precisely what had happened at that table and swore revenge.

Eight months later, Mia accepted her second case ever with only one night's notice after discovering that Dahlia Hawthorne was once again involved. Mia proved Dahlia to be the real murderer, and the hateful woman was finally sentenced to death. Mia's client and her fallen boyfriend had been avenged.

Meanwhile, Diego slept. He would not awaken for five years, until the day the fragrance of a doctor's morning coffee finally stirred him.

Unfortunately, it was as though he had awoken into a nightmare-- the poison had wreaked havoc on his central nervous system and he'd become completely blind. His hair had turned white and his entire body was weakened and broken down from the damage. Worst of all, Diego learned that Mia had been murdered two years earlier. It was small consolation to learn that Dahlia had already been sentenced, denying him even the vengeance he yearned for. As he lamented, "there was nobody waiting for me when I woke up". Distraught and grieving with nothing else to live for, he blamed himself for being unable to protect his "Kitten" as he felt he should have-- and later grew furious and threw the blame onto Phoenix Wright, Mia's protege who Diego believed should have protected her in his stead.

Now determined to challenge Phoenix, Diego received the visor that would allow him to see, then abandoned his name, his career as a defense attorney and his past. He became a prosecutor to ensure that he would eventually meet Phoenix in court. From now on he would be known as Godot-- the one who everybody waits for.

Godot and Phoenix met each other in court several times, at least twice as documented in the cases of State vs. DeLite (3-2) and State vs. Byrde (3-3). Though Godot lost every time, he still showed a bullheaded resolve in only accepting cases where he would be competing against the "porcupine-headed idiot". It was after one of these cases that Godot sat in his usual coffee shop, well into his 10th cup of coffee when he suddenly blacked out. When he awoke, he found himself in a strange place... and probably unable to meet his nine AM court date the next day.
